Area Agency on Aging selects 2023 Wyandot Outstanding Senior Citizen

Ontario OH – The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc., is proud to announce the 2023 Wyandot County Outstanding Senior Citizen, Marilyn Baughman.

 

Marilyn Baughman served as a secretary from 1964-1981 at the Ruttman Construction Company in Upper Sandusky. Since 2007, she has been a weekly volunteer at the hospital and has held the office of Treasurer at the Wyandot County Senior Citizens Club. Marilyn volunteers at a newly established Care-to-Chat Program at the Wyandot County Council on Aging. She calls individuals to check in and see how they are doing.

 

In the presence of family, friends, and dignitaries, Marilyn Baughman was honored on Wednesday, August 30th, at the Area Agency on Aging located within Hawkins Conference Center hosted by Duana Patton, Chief Executive Officer at the Area Agency on Aging, and Jason Painley, Corporate Board President.

 

Each year the Area Agency on Aging honors senior citizens who are making a difference in their communities and present a positive image of aging. There is one award recipient for each county in the Agency's service area (Ashland, Crawford, Huron, Knox, Marion, Morrow, Richland, Seneca, and Wyandot).

 

Awardees must first be nominated by an individual or organization involved with seniors. They are then selected by the Agency based on the impact of their contributions and accomplishments within the community made after reaching age 60.
